After many days of driving rain, the sun burst forth on June 8th just in time for the Mosaic Fesitval, downtown Greensboro’s annual celebration of its rich multicultural life. The day was filled with the sight of beaurtiful fabrics, smells of exotic foods and the sounds of rich musical rythmns, all enjoyed by thousands of area residents who participated.
The Festival was sponsored by Church World Service. PTPL has been a participant with a booth at the Festival for many years. This year the PTPL booth drew crowds of visitors. Many stopped to talk to our volunteers and board members about our work in the Congo. They participated in our first-ever raffle, bought Congolese and east African crafts donated to PTPL and took home PTPL literature.
We raised nearly $300 for our work and added new supporters to our mailing list. Kudos to board member Katherine McKee who organized our participation! We hope you will join us for next year’s Mosaic Festival!
